3 Inch Mortar Platoon (Far East)

Mortar bombs fly in a high-arcing trajectory, soaring over friendly troops and intervening terrain, to drop down onto the target from above. Unlike most other infantry weapons, they cannot conduct direct fire
Once in position they were able to be called down as the enemy positions were located to deliver supporting fire for attacks, and for breaking up Japanese Banzai charges
